Money and life plans in a relationship

A conversation about money is also a conversation about time, independence, care and plans. This guide helps you clarify your priorities and begin talking with respect.

Start with yourself

Before comparing answers, think about what you want to build. You can use these questions alone or bring them to a conversation. You do not need to disclose your income.

  1. What would you like money to make possible in your life: stability, learning, housing, time or something else?
  2. Which financial decisions do you want to keep independent?
  3. Which contributions besides money should a relationship recognize?
  4. Which goals would be useful to discuss before sharing a home or expenses?

Talk without turning it into a test

Choose one question, listen and ask what the other person needs. If you disagree, agree on when to return to the topic. Care and daily work are part of a shared life; they do not need an invented price tag.

For example, if one person has less income for a month, you could review essential expenses together, discuss what temporary contribution feels fair and set a date to revisit the plan. No single answer proves that a relationship is good or bad.

What the LovIA module contains

LovIA offers four short sessions with 18 optional questions and three situations to discuss. The interactive module is currently in Spanish. You can skip questions; this exercise does not block other features.

This guide is educational. It does not measure psychological or financial compatibility, provide personalized financial advice or rank people for dating. It is for adults 18 and older.
